Katy Perry kept things economical as she got glammed up for her all-female Blue Origin expedition, as she was made up using a £10 foundation.

The singer, 40, soared into the sky with a star-studded crew including Lauren Sanchez and Gayle King for an 11-minute trip, before safely touching back down on Earth.

The six-person crew also included film producer Kerianne Flynn, activist Amanda Nguyen, and former NASA rocket scientist Aisha Bowe.

It was revealed the group would be sporting full glam for the mission, with Katy enlisting the help of her make-up artist Alexandra French.

Documenting the historic day, Alexandra shared a snap from the hair and make-up tent which she captioned: ‘First glam teams for space !!! We made history.’

She then shared a looked at the products used to achieve Katy’s space glam, revealing that L’Oreal Paris’s Infallible 32H foundation – which costs just £9.79 at LookFantastic.

As well as the foundation, Alexandra used the Maybelline Infallible 24H concealer (£10.99) and the L’Oreal Paris Infallible 3 Second Setting Mist (£9.99)

Speaking to People, Alexandra revealed she double set the makeup with L’Oreal’s 3-Second Setting Mist — and it truly held, from liftoff to landing

‘Getting space ready with @lorealparis !!!!!!,’ she wrote.

Katy shared snaps from the launch on Sunday to her Instagram and penned: ‘Happy International Day of Human Space Flight. Forever in awe of the Universe and it’s alignment.’

She looked confident in the blue jumpsuit which was emblazoned with ‘Perry’ and said ‘Blue Origin’ down the arm.

This week Lauren told The New York Times of designing the blue suits: ‘Let’s reimagine the flight suit. Usually, you know, these suits are made for a man. Then they get tailored to fit a woman.’

She added: ‘I think the suits are elegant but they also bring a little spice to space.’

Five months ago Lauren got in touch with Fernando Garcia and Laura Kim, the co-founders of the brand Monse, who are also creative directors of Oscar de la Renta and made her 2024 Met Gala outfit.

They agreed to help her with the space suit designs.

Fernando said during the interview: ‘We even had a meeting on what underwear Lauren is going to wear…’ to which she responded: ‘Skims!’

As the end of the interview Lauren then quoted something she said Katy had told her: ‘We’re putting the ‘ass’ in astronaut!’

Katy’s daughter Daisy was seen for the first time on Monday as she joined the millions watching her mom fly to space.

Standing in the crowd watching on with awe was Katy’s fiancé Orlando Bloom, 48, and their four-year-old daughter Daisy, wearing a miniature astronaut’s costume.

The couple have kept the little girl away from the spotlight, with neither sharing photos of her face to social media before.

However, in Blue Origin’s footage of the historic event, Daisy was filmed watching the crew land, sweetly exclaiming: ‘My mama!’

While Katy paid a heartfelt tribute to her daughter in space, as she held a daisy flower up in the spaceship and again upon exiting the rocket after completing the journey.

As she emerged from the ship, Katy stopped and held her daisy flower up to the sky for a couple of seconds before kissing it, and then bent to kiss the ground – a moment that quickly went viral across social media.

Explaining why she took the daisy with her, the Firework star revealed that it was symbolic as it is a flower that can ‘grow in all conditions.’

‘Daisies are common flowers but they grow through any condition, they grow through cement, through cracks, through walls,’ she said.

‘They are resilient, they are powerful, they are strong, they are everywhere. To me, flowers are God’s smile.

‘They are a reminder of our beautiful earth and the beautiful magic that is everywhere all around us.’
