Rumors regarding a romance between Katy Perry and Justin Trudeau are heating up. However, a source says she’s still grieving the end of her romance with Orlando Bloom.
Former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau was recently spotted at Katy Perry’s sold‑out “Lifetimes Tour” concert in Montreal. And his presence has fueled fresh speculation about their connection. Just days earlier, the pair had shared a private dinner at the upscale restaurant Le Violon. Afterward, they were seen chatting while strolling through Mount Royal Park. His presence at her concert, especially so soon after their dinner outing, added another layer of intrigue to their rumored romance. However, a source says Perry is still “grieving” the end of her romance with Orlando Bloom. Could this spell trouble for her and Trudeau?
Katy Perry’s friends want her to ‘take it slow’ with Justin Trudeau, a source says
Nobody ever expected pop sensation Katy Perry and former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to ramp up romance rumors in 2025. In July 2025, Perry and Bloom confirmed their split after nine years together. While the couple experienced trouble in the past, this breakup seemed final. And reports suggested Bloom was ready to dive back into the dating scene. Given Perry and Trudeau’s recent outings, which have included dinner and Trudeau watching her Montreal concert, fans suspect their feelings for each other are growing every day.
However, an insider told The U.S. Sun that Perry’s friends are nervous, as the pop singer is “still very much grieving” Bloom.
“Katy’s friends want her to have fun after her split from Orlando, but she’s still very much grieving the end of their relationship and the fact that she never made it down the aisle,” the source alleged. “They don’t want her to rush into something serious, and have heard Justin has a bit of a reputation as a womanizer, and that he loves the fame game.”
The source added that Perry and Trudeau currently have a “very new flirty friendship.” And her friends hope she “takes it slow with the next person.” Additionally, the insider noted that Perry doesn’t scare off Trudeau with her star power.
Another source says Katy Perry ‘isn’t ready to start dating anyone’ after her breakup
Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom left their romance on good terms and plan to co-parent their daughter, Daisy. While Perry will eventually dive back into the dating scene, an insider told DailyMail.com that Perry’s friends don’t think a serious romance is brewing between Perry and Justin Trudeau.
“As of right now, Katy and Justin are treating their get together as just that, a get together,” the insider alleged. “She hasn’t told anyone it was anything more, and she usually wears her heart on her sleeve, so if something were happening, she’d let her close friends know. But right now it is nothing more than friendship.”
The source added that Perry “isn’t ready to start dating anyone right now.” She’s focusing on “healing” from her split with Bloom.
Another insider told the publication that Perry and Trudeau’s “friendly” dinner was “just a hangout” and nothing more.
Orlando Bloom posted a photo with the pop star after they announced their split
Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom are committed to co-parenting and staying friendly. While they’re no longer romantically involved, Bloom shocked fans by posting a series of vacation photos to Instagram — and one photo contains him and Perry. The photo shows the couple’s daughter, Daisy, leaning over to Perry as she sits atop Bloom’s shoulders. The exes look happy despite no longer pursuing a romance.
Bloom turned comments off on the post, as the photo captured attention and made fans wonder whether the exes hoped to reconcile. However, it seems clear that Perry and Bloom plan to go their separate ways romantically.
