Renowned fitness influencer Kayla Itsines recently opened up on social media about the challenges of managing sibling squabbles in her household, offering a glimpse into how she navigates these common family situations.
In her candid post, the 34-year-old shared an incident involving her daughter, Arna, who is six, and her two-year-old son, Jax. The scenario unfolded when Arna pushed her younger brother to the floor, a reaction to his persistent shoving.
Kayla explained how she addressed the situation, encouraging her daughter to stand up for herself. She recounted getting down to Jax’s level and speaking to him with a serious tone, emphasizing the importance of listening: “She said stop. Listen the first time.”
The fitness mogul further elaborated that the commotion began over a toy that Jax was attempting to take from Arna, highlighting a common source of sibling disputes.
Elsewhere in the Instagram share, Kayla said that the squabble between the siblings had started because Jax was trying to take a toy from his sister.
Kayla said she watched as her daughter had repeatedly told her brother to ‘stop’ and added: ‘Not once during all this did she turn to me.’

She continued: ‘He [Jax] laughed and did it again.’
‘But before I could do anything, Arna turned around and shoved him so hard he fell to the floor.
‘He instantly looked at me shocked, looking at me for sympathy and started crying.
‘I watched Arna immediately go to defend herself and said ‘buutt mummmm he—-‘ she started to get upset.
‘I said ‘Arna ..’ her face dropped … Jax continued to cry … and I said “Arna, you said stop. He didn’t stop.
“You did NOTHING wrong. You stood up for yourself, and you will NEVER get in trouble for that”. I watched her face go from frustrated to still and content.
‘She stood silently there, looking at her brother crying.’
Kayla then had some advice for other parents.

‘To anyone who is about to say “he’s only little… he doesn’t understand”. I’m not waiting for him to “grow up” to learn that lesson.
‘If you have kids, you make sure you teach them that STOP means f**** STOP.’
Kayla’s revealing post about her parenting was received with praise from followers.
‘This is so powerful,’ messaged one fan, while another added: ‘I have taught my boys the same and completely agree with you!’
A third follower posted: ‘You go girl, the right attitude!!’
Kayla and husband Jae Woodroffe, 34, tied the knot in December 2023.
The couple welcomed their first child together, Jax, in January 2023, with Kayla sharing custody of her daughter Arna, with ex Tobi Pearce.
