Goonies fans, get ready to embark on a new adventure in brick form, as Lego has introduced a stunning new set that pays tribute to the beloved 1985 film. The classic story of friendship and treasure hunts is now immortalized in a 2,912-piece Lego set, capturing the magic of Richard Donner’s film, produced by the legendary Steven Spielberg.

This impressive diorama brings to life the iconic pirate ship, the Inferno, showcasing intricately designed rooms reminiscent of the movie’s unforgettable scenes. Fans will recognize the Fratellis’ hideout, the eerie Bone Organ, and One-Eyed Willy’s treasure room, all recreated with meticulous attention to detail. Accompanying these settings are 12 minifigures representing beloved characters such as Mikey, Mouth, Chunk, Andy, and Data, alongside unique pieces like Sloth’s pirate hat and Mama Fratelli’s beret.

To celebrate the launch, Lego enlisted the help of Oscar-winning actor Ke Huy Quan, who played the resourceful Data in the film. In a nostalgic short film, Quan guides fans through the set, highlighting hidden Easter eggs and sharing cherished memories from the movie’s production.

Quan recounted a particularly memorable moment to The Hollywood Reporter, revealing how the filmmakers captured the actors’ genuine reactions to the Inferno. “When the time came to film the reveal, they had us walk in backwards in a line, then get into the water with our backs to the ship the entire time,” he explained. “There were seven cameras rolling, one on each of us, to capture our reaction as we saw the Inferno for the first time. Only Josh (Brolin) had to film a re-take, as he let out a curse in excitement the first time around!”

The project comes from Lego Ideas, the company’s fan-submission program. It was designed by Greek 3D artist Vaggelis Ntezes (aka Delusion Brick), who said the process was deeply personal.

“In designing this set, I revisited my childhood memories – growing up in the ’80s, playing with LEGO Pirates sets and watching The Goonies,” Ntezes said in Lego’s announcement. “Combining nostalgia, fantasy, and creativity, I wanted to build something that offered both playability and display value.”

The Goonies set launches through Lego’s early access program on November 1 before hitting stores on November 4 for $309.99. Early buyers will also get a bonus 179-piece Goonies: The Walsh’ Attic set, which recreates the attic scene where the kids discover the treasure map.

Written by Chris Columbus and starring Sean Astin, Josh Brolin, Corey Feldman, Martha Plimpton, Kerri Green, Jeff Cohen, and Quan, The Goonies has become one of the most beloved adventure films of the ’80s. The movie remains a streaming favorite on Max, and Warner Bros. is currently developing a sequel — but for now, fans can relive the adventure one brick at a time.
