Kelly Ripa effortlessly outshines the trend of wireless earbuds.
During a segment on Live with Kelly and Mark this Tuesday, Ripa discussed the return of wired headphones, sharing that their children have already embraced this trend for a while.
“Apparently, it’s becoming a thing again,” she remarked, highlighting its nostalgic appeal. “A lot of celebrities have been spotted with them. Maybe it’s because they don’t get lost as easily?”
Consuelos chimed in, noting the advantage that wired headphones “never need charging,” and pointed out someone who remains unfazed by this retro trend.
“That someone is you,” he said to Ripa with a smile.
Though Ripa claimed Consuelos has also not adopted the trend, Consuelos insisted she uses her AirPods “way more” than he does.
“You’ll be on a call, and then you’ll get off the call, and you’ll just full on have a conversation with them in your ears,” he explained.
Ripa provided her rationale, saying her “ears are the holders” for her AirPods.
“It’s like, where do you put the phone down? On the holder,” she added. “Remember when we had telephones connected to the wall? You put the phone down on the holder. My ears have become the holders.”
Consuelos inquired as to if the AirPods “block” any outside noise and if she “hear[s] less,” though Ripa shut the thought down.
“I hear every word you say,” she teased. “I hear every thought in your head. I hear you silently judging me.”
Consuelos asked, “Yeah, what am I saying now?”
Ripa replied, “I wish you would take those insufferable earbuds out.”
Consuelos quipped, “Nope, wrong.”
