Kelsea Ballerini candidly talked about how therapy has helped her get through a divorce and a school shooting.

The Cowboys Cry Too singer, 31, revealed that she had mandatory therapy sessions after dealing with her parents divorce and a fatal shooting at her high school in Knoxville, Tennessee when she was 15.

During a week-long gust hosting gig on SiriusXM’s Women of Country channel, she opened up about resuming her therapy journey by choice when she gained success as a country star.

She said: ‘I didn’t have a great relationship with therapy until it was my decision to go, which happened when I was 24.

‘I want to navigate my life and my career well, and be proud of it all. And I needed help with that. I’m pretty religious about it, and I try to do it at least a couple times a month.’

She also opened up about being a part of a ‘therapy group’ just for female country stars.

The star revealed that it was at the beginning of her career she started an ‘all-girl therapy group’ with her friends.

Kelsey recalled bonding with fellow country artist Carly Pearce in that ‘therapy group’ before either of them found fame.

The five-time Grammy nominee — who addressed pregnancy rumors after being forced to cancel several concerts due to illness — said they were a ‘support system’ for each other while trying to make their big breaks.

‘Before we had anything on the radio, before we had any success, we were friends in this all-girl, basically just like therapy group,’ she said in a clip shared with People.

‘We were all just trying to figure out how to break into the industry and like being a support system for each other,’ she explained.

‘And then we both had the opportunity to sign a record deal and start touring and put songs out,’ she said about her and her longtime friendship with Pearce, 34.

And we have just walked alongside each other through the last, more than 10 years, honestly.’

Ballerini gushed about the Every Little Thing singer and said she is ‘a really wonderful friend.’

She also spoke about being able to ‘perform together and do songs together’ including collaborating on You’re Drunk, Go Home from Ballerini’s fourth studio album Subject to Change.

‘We’ve gotten to walk life together, and we’ve both had so much life happen and life change in the last 10 years,’ she added before making note of everything she has in common with her ‘beautiful friend.’

‘And to be able to have a sister that is also a peer that also just like, you can relate to as a girl going through life and growing up and all those things,’ she explained.

Then, she added: ‘But also be like, “Okay, like, how are we feeling about music right now? Are you doing okay on the road? Are you tired? Like, what do you need from me?”‘

She continued: ‘It’s been really important for me to have her as such a beautiful friend. So, shout out to Carly Pearce. I love you forever.’

This comes just weeks after Pearce gushed about their friendship while speaking to People at a New York City event in January.

‘Kelsea and I have been friends for over 10 years,’ she began.

‘I watched her when she had 200 or 300 people in a little club, and now she’s selling out big arenas, so it was surreal.’

Pearce also said she’s learned about the art of performance from her ‘best friend.’

‘I feel like she has a really amazing ability to perform like the superstar she is in front of thousands of people, but she still remains so vulnerable and honest, and you feel very connected to her, even if you’re sitting all the way in the back.’
