Kenya Moore recently shared a heartwarming family milestone when her daughter, Brooklyn Doris Daly, was introduced to her grandmother for the first time during a special family event.

The former star of Real Housewives of Atlanta took to Instagram to share highlights from the gathering, which celebrated a significant birthday for her grandmother, Doris Grant.

“95 years young! The matriarch of the family turns 95 years old! It’s such a blessing that my daughter has the chance to know her great-grandmother and meet her grandmother (my mother) for the first time. #lifeisgood #family #love #generations #kenyamoore,” Moore expressed in her post.

Supportive fans flooded the comments section, sharing their joy for the touching occasion.

“Such a beautiful moment, queen. You and Brooke deserve all the happiness,” one admirer commented.

Another said, “Awe that wonderful Kenya that Brooklyn gets to meet her great grandmother and her maternal grandmother. I’m happy to hear that that connection has met. Hope that continues for you and Brooklyn. Again Happy Birthday to your grandmother.”

Moore has spoken publicly over the years about her complicated relationship with her mother, Patricia Moore. Kenya was abandoned by her mother three days after she was born and was raised by her paternal grandmother, Doris Grant.

In a blog post previously published by Bravo, Moore described the distance that has defined their relationship.

“Since birth, my mother made the decision at age 16 to pretend she never had me. She has never spoken to me,” Moore wrote. “Even if present in the same room with other people and family, she pretends that I simply don’t exist. She pretends I’m invisible.”

Patricia Moore addressed the situation in a 1993 magazine interview, saying, “The door for communication has been and always will remain open.” However, Moore has continued to say that her mother has never acknowledged her.

When Moore became a mother herself, she spoke about wanting to create a different experience for her own child.

“I think I’ve come a long way from where I used to be,” Moore said in a past interview shared by People. “My daughter — she’s 3, and she’s just the world to me. I had her very late in life, but I wanted to be the type of mom to my daughter that I never had.”

Moore welcomed Brooklyn Doris Daly on November 4, 2018.
