Keyshia Cole brought her two kids, Daniel Gibson Jr. and Tobias Khale, to the BET Awards at the Peacock Theatre in Los Angeles on June 9.

The R&B singer posed it up on the red carpet with her sons before later hitting the stage.

In one of the night’s most buzzed-about moments, Cole joined rapper GloRilla on stage for the live debut of their new single, “Typa”, which samples Cole’s 2005 classic “Love”.

Keyshia Cole, who shares DJ (born in 2009) with ex-husband Daniel Gibson and Tobias (born in 2019) with ex-boyfriend Niko Khale, recently opened up about life as a mom and how it’s shaped her over the years.

In a conversation with The Breakfast Club last month, the singer reflected on how motherhood has changed her perspective.

“I would hurt myself for my children,” she said. “Being a mom, yeah. I didn’t want to, like, you know, go to jail and never get to see them again. So, I mean, you have to make life-altering decisions.”

She also shared a bit of honesty about her boys’ very different personalities.

“I never seen my oldest son angry at all, ever,” she admitted. “And I’m scared about that. I’m like, where is it coming, when is it coming? Because I’ve never seen him yell, get loud, argue.”

Her younger son, Tobias, on the other hand, keeps things lively at home. “My little one, he cusses everybody out,” she said with a laugh. “That one is gonna give me all hell that broke loose with me. I hope—I pray not—but it looks as if so, ’cause he don’t take no [stuff] at all. Like, he be capping on his brother.”

One way Tobias has “capped” on his brother is by referring to him as a ‘Big back’ on a number occasions, but Keyshia has chastised him for it.

She explained of Daniel Jr.’s size, “He’s like a big guy, but not not fat no he’s not fat but he’s a big dude like he can play football.”
