Kid Cudi may be known for his music, but one of his proudest titles has nothing to do with the stage, it’s “Dad.”

The 41-year-old rapper, born Scott Ramon Seguro Mescudi, recently shared rare and heartfelt insights about his bond with his 15-year-old daughter, Vada, during an interview on CBS Mornings. Their connection, he revealed, is something special and it was on full display during his recent wedding.

“See me in parent mode or Uncle Scott mode, I’m on fire,” Cudi said with a smile. When asked if he considered himself a good dad, his answer came without hesitation: “Oh my God, the best. The best. Even at the wedding, me and Vada had our dance together.”

Recalling the moment, he said, “I would do a goofy dance, and she would do the same goofy dance, and we were like in sync. And I was like, ‘Oh man, this is my daughter.’ Like me and her are on the same frequency.”

Cudi tied the knot with his fiancée, Lola Abecassis Sartore, in the South of France on June 28. Sartore described the celebration to Vogue as pure perfection. “We’re on cloud nine in our little bubble of love. It’s so overwhelming to receive so much love in such a short amount of time. You want this feeling to never end. It was really the most perfect, flawless, peaceful day, and we want to do it all over again.”

The rapper has always been protective of his time with Vada. Back in 2022, he told Esquire about a moment in Cleveland when fans approached for photos while he was out with his daughter. When he asked her later how it made her feel, she replied, “Sad… because I want it to just be us.” Cudi used that story as a message to fans, “Please, if you see me with my daughter, let us have our moment. This is Vada asking, not me.”

Vada, described by her dad as “the coolest, bravest person,” has a love for theater and an emerging interest in music. Cudi hopes the future holds even more family moments and maybe more siblings for his daughter. “I’m a relationship man,” he shared. “My goal is to find someone. Soon, hopefully. And get married and have more kids.”

For Cudi, fatherhood isn’t just a role, it’s a rhythm he and his daughter have mastered together.
