Kid Rock to Headline Turning Point USA’s ‘All-American Halftime Show,’ Calls Super Bowl Rivalry with Bad Bunny a ‘David vs. Goliath’ Matchup

Turning Point USA has unveiled the lineup for The All-American Halftime Show, which promises to be a patriotic extravaganza designed to rival Bad Bunny’s much-anticipated Super Bowl halftime performance.

Billed as an alternative celebration of “faith, family & freedom,” this special event will showcase performances by renowned country artists Kid Rock, Brantley Gilbert, Lee Brice, and Gabby Barrett.

In a statement to Fox News, Kid Rock likened their efforts to the biblical tale of David and Goliath, indicating the show’s ambitious spirit. The performance will broadcast live on Sunday, February 8 at 8 p.m. ET, coinciding with the NFL Super Bowl showdown between the Seattle Seahawks and the New England Patriots.

“Taking on the immense influence of the pro football industry and a global pop sensation is a daunting task… or is it?” Kid Rock mused, hinting at the scale of the challenge.

Meanwhile, Bad Bunny, who recently clinched two more Grammy Awards, including one for Album of the Year, is set to deliver a dynamic medley of his biggest hits at Levi’s Stadium. Adding to the Super Bowl’s musical lineup, Green Day, known for their outspoken frontman Billie Joe Armstrong, will also take the stage prior to kickoff.

The “All Summer Long” singer threw some shade at Bad Bunny while promoting the Turning Point USA event.

“He’s said he’s having a dance party, wearing a dress, and singing in Spanish? Cool. We plan to play great songs for folks who love America,” Rock said.

The conservative nonprofit organization, which was founded by the late Charlie Kirk, first announced their plans for the alternative halftime show in October after conservatives on the right spoke out against Bad Bunny being chosen to headline the Super Bowl halftime show. At the time, the organization invited users to vote on which music genres they would like to see featured in the performance, offering options such as classic rock, country, worship, or just “anything in English,” a pointed reference to Bad Bunny’s Spanish discography.

President Trump also called the choice “absolutely ridiculous” and claimed he had “never heard of” Bad Bunny, adding, “I don’t know who he is, I don’t know why they’re doing it — it’s, like, crazy. They blame it on some promoter they hired to pick up entertainment. I think it’s absolutely ridiculous.”

Turning Point USA spokesman Andrew Kolvet described The All-American Halftime Show as “an opportunity for all Americans to enjoy a halftime show with no agenda other than to celebrate faith, family, and freedom.”

This will mark Bad Bunny’s second time performing at the Super Bowl. He first made a surprise appearance during Shakira and Jennifer Lopez‘s halftime performance in 2020.

The All-American Halftime Show will be available to stream on the Turning Point USA’s YouTube page, as well as Sinclair Broadcast Group’s OTT channel CHARGE!

The Super Bowl LX will air Sunday, Feb. 8, at 6:30 p.m. ET on NBC. It will be available to stream on Peacock and NFL+.
