When it comes to family traditions, the Kardashians know how to do it big and the Fourth of July was no exception this year. Both Kim and Khloe Kardashian rang in the red, white, and blue holiday surrounded by their little ones, festive treats, and a whole lot of love. But for Kim, this year’s lake trip came with a layer of quiet sadness.

Kim Kardashian, 44, took to Instagram to share a carousel of images from her annual lake getaway with her kids and close friends. In one photo, she’s seen beaming next to her sons Saint, 9, and Psalm, 6, and daughter Chicago, 7, with sparklers lighting up the night. “Lake 2025,” she simply captioned the post.

The SKIMS founder also gave followers a look inside the sweet moments from the trip which included, pies, playtime, and matching giggles with Khloé, 41, who showed up rocking a fake mustache and holiday spirit with her kids True, 7, and Tatum, 2, along with niece Dream, 8.

But behind the smiles, Kim opened up about the deep emotions woven into this year’s trip. Just days earlier, she posted a heartfelt tribute to her close friend, Lindsay May Palevsky, a longtime member of her tight-knit “Lifers” circle, who passed away from a rare form of cancer in late 2024.

“It was just your birthday and I know you never liked to make a big deal of it, but Happy Heavenly Birthday, Lindz,” Kim captioned her carousel of images on Instagram. “The lake was your happy place. It made you feel lighter, healthier … you were you… We felt your absence this year in every sunset, every laugh, every quiet moment.”

Meanwhile, Khloe celebrated the Fourth in full-on party mode. Her Instagram stories gave fans an inside peek at her red, white, and blue bash, complete with a dessert table overflowing with patriotic candy, cookies, ice cream, and a cake that proudly read, “Happy 4th of July 2025.” She and her kids, along with Dream, were decked out in star-spangled outfits, soaking up the sun and making memories at a local parade.

Khloe, always one to go all out, made sure every detail reflected her signature flair. Whether it was matching looks, festive décor, or sweet family moments, she showed just how much she loves making holidays magical for her kids.

While their approaches may have looked different, one filled with celebration, the other touched by remembrance, both Kim and Khloe leaned into what matters most, spending time with family, making memories that will last a lifetime.
