Ryan Murphy’s contentious legal drama, All’s Fair, has been given the green light for a second season, much to the delight of its viewers.

Leading the charge in this intriguing series is Kim Kardashian, who steps into the role of a formidable attorney. She helms an all-female law firm that focuses on handling high-profile divorce cases. In true Murphy fashion, the show boasts an impressive roster of stars, including Niecy Nash-Betts, Sarah Paulson, Glenn Close, Naomi Watts, and Teyana Taylor.

Debuting on Hulu on November 4, All’s Fair quickly captured the audience’s attention, marking the streaming platform’s most successful original series premiere in three years. Despite this, critical reception was largely negative, with only a few exceptions. Decider, for instance, praised the series for its unpredictable and eclectic nature.

The criticism was harsh, with Variety describing it as a “clumsy, condescending girlboss fantasia,” and USA Today labeling it “the worst TV show of the year.” Yet, the show’s polarizing nature only seemed to fuel its popularity, turning it into an instant camp classic akin to the likes of And Just Like That and Emily in Paris.

But that wasn’t enough to deter fans from tuning in. If anything, it helped cement the show as an instant camp classic, along the ranks of And Just Like That and Emily in Paris.

Kardashian even used the bad publicity to her own advantage. She highlighted the show’s mixed reviews in a post on Instagram, alongside several glamorous shots of her and her co-stars at the red carpet premiere.

“Have you tuned in to the most critically acclaimed show of the year!?!?!?” she wrote on Instagram at the time.

Kardashian’s post included screenshot of X users calling Murphy “the high priest of tacky, tasteless television” and openly criticizing the series, with one viewer writing, “Some of the worst acting I’ve ever seen in my life alongside the most predictable storylines and the most ridiculous styling. I’m obsessed I need 14 seasons.”

The show had a 0% score on Rotten Tomatoes upon its premiere that later rose to 5%. It now sits at 3%. Despite this, All’s Fair is returning with at least one more season.

This could be the start of a long collaboration between Murphy and Kardashian. All’s Fair marks her second collaboration with Murphy after she appeared in American Horror Story: Delicate.

All’s Fair Season 1 is streaming now on Hulu and Disney+.
