Years before becoming a household name on Keeping Up With the Kardashians, Khloé Kardashian faced a highly publicized arrest that put her in the headlines for all the wrong reasons. In 2007, she was taken into custody for driving under the influence. And before that incident, she was arrested after driving as a 15-year-old. More recently, Khloé discussed the situation with her famous mom, Kris Jenner. Here’s what the reality star said about how her mother accused her of looking like a “hooker” at the time.

Khloé Kardashian opened up about Kris Jenner’s reaction to her arrest

Khloé Kardashian’s arrest in 2007 came after she was pulled over for driving under the influence in Los Angeles, a moment that marked one of the first major scandals in the Kardashian family’s rise to fame. At the time, Khloé was still carving out her identity in the shadow of her older sisters. But the arrest, and her subsequent probation violation that briefly landed her behind bars, thrust her into the public eye. And Khloé later admitted to getting stopped by cops while driving as a young teen without a license years before the DUI incident.

On a March 2025 episode of Khloé’s podcast, Khloé In Wonder Land, the reality star addressed the situation that happened nearly two decades ago. She brought on her mother, Kris Jenner, to discuss the arrest. Khloé asked her mother if she recalled the time when Khloé stole Caitlyn Jenner’s car at 15 years old. After swerving behind the wheel, the cops pulled her over.

“And I was wearing a really cute skirt from Forever21,” Khloé said. She then lied about her name to the police officer, as she claimed to be Kourtney Kardashian. And she gave the officer Kim Kardashian’s birth date. After her arrest, Kris came to pick her up.

“And you were like, ‘What’s wrong with you?’ Look at the short skirt you’re wearing. You look like you could’ve been a hooker,’” Khloé recalled to Kris. “And this is all private. In front of everyone, you were like, ‘Oh, she’s a great girl.’ You were so sweet.”

While talking to Khloé Kardashian about the incident, Kris Jenner recalled lying to Caitlyn Jenner, who went by Bruce at the time. Kris covered for Khloé regarding where the car went.

“He’s like, ‘Where’s my Escalade?’ Kris said. “Oh yeah — scratched. I took it right to the shop.”

“I was on punishment, but you kept it from Bruce,” Khloé continued, noting how her mother was incredibly angry with her over the situation. “And I was like, that was really nice of you. That was really cool of you that you did that.”

“You guys showed me a lot of respect,” Kris remembered. “So, even though you were probably shaking, because that was a horrible thing to go through, and scared of what I might do or how I would react, you know my temperature. You know that when I get really mad … you know that I don’t mean any of that.”

The famous ‘momager’ said her friend thought she wasn’t ‘tough enough’ on her kids

Kris Jenner has a bond like no other with her daughters. While speaking on the Khloé In Wonder Land podcast, she revealed that one of her close friends didn’t believe Kris was “tough enough” in disciplining her children.

“My girlfriend used to say — she used to get so mad at me, because she felt like I wasn’t tough enough,” Kris recalled. “I wasn’t the disciplinarian that she was or that she thought was appropriate. And I would say to her, but I want to do this my way. ‘You know, well, these aren’t your friends. You’re too much of a friend. You’re not the parent.’”

Kris rejected this notion. “And I said, oh, no — I’m the parent,” she continued. “But, I didn’t carry these kids around for nine months in my body, and then birth them, and raise them, and come this far, and now they’re young adults, or they’re going to be a teenager soon, to just let it all go and just be their parent, and that’s the end. These are going to be my soulmates for the rest of my life.”
