A 28-year-old lady has taken to social media to share her dismay after discovering that her husband had used their joint savings to purchase her engagement ring without her knowledge.

The lady, recounted the events leading up to their marriage, stating that they opted for a courthouse wedding after a brief engagement.

Following the ceremony, her husband surprised her with a diamond engagement ring valued at approximately $8,000 (N11 million).

However, her joy quickly turned to dismay upon discovering that he had financed the ring through withdrawals from their shared savings account.

Expressing her frustration, she voiced her objection to the idea of being financially responsible for a gift she had received.

She emphasized that the engagement ring should be considered a gift in line with cultural norms and criticized her husband’s decision to make her contribute towards its cost.
