Lara Worthington Reunites with Cricket Legend Ricky Ponting

The two friends shared a warm embrace upon meeting at the Albert Park venue, with Worthington visibly delighted by the encounter.

The model, 38, relived her time as a cricket WAG when she socialised with cricketer Ricky Ponting at the Grand Prix in Melbourne on Sunday. 

The old chums embraced when they ran into one another at the Albert Park venue, with Lara absolutely beaming. 

The blonde looked chic in a grey blazer in an oversized cut and wore a smattering of gold jewellery.  

Lara is known to be close to Ricky’s wife Rianna Ponting (née Cantor), with the women bonding during the years Lara was dating cricketer Michael Clarke.

Worthington, who then went by her maiden name of Lara Bingle, dated Clarke from 2007 to 2010.

In 2010, after a two-year engagement, Lara and Michael announced their split. 

Rianna Ponting previously revealed that it was Lara’s high-profile romance with Michael that put cricket WAGS on the map. 

Rianna, who met Ricky in 2001 and wed just eight months later, recalled how cricket WAGs weren’t really a thing during Ricky’s reign as captain of Australia.

‘I think it changed when the beautiful Lara Bingle came along and made WAGs interesting,’ Rianna told Stellar.

‘Prior to that, cricket WAGS weren’t really a thing. And thank goodness! The idea of no one caring [about me] was much easier than having all that scrutiny.’

Lara is now married to Australian actor Sam Worthington.

She appears to be attending the Australian Grand Prix solo, and was spotted partying with Cody Simpson on Monday night.

Simpson appears to be enjoying himself since his split from Emma McKeon at the end of last year.

Bizarre footage of their antics has surfaced, showing Cody flipping the bird on the street during a night of partying. 

The clip, shared to Lara’s TikTok on Monday, begins with Cody’s Talent Manager Milena Gattegno, who once dated TV host Darren McMullen, flipping the bird on the street to the strains of Joan Jett’s I Love Rock ‘n’ Roll.

Lara then appears to push Cody along the street, raising the middle finger on both hands as she is filmed.

‘No, we’re not, f*** you b***h,’ she says in the caption, alongside the description, ‘Can’t keep these two quiet.’ 

Simpson, who split from Emma McKeon in late 2025 after four years of dating, appeared to have a ball as he attended the Australian Grand Prix at Albert Park in Melbourne.
