Lauren London, along with her sons Kross Asghedom and Kameron Carter, attended a significant event in South Los Angeles this past Saturday. The city took the opportunity to honor the memory of Nipsey Hussle by dedicating Nipsey Hussle Square at the prominent junction of Crenshaw Boulevard and Slauson Avenue.
This tribute is a nod to the late Nipsey Hussle, whose real name was Ermias Asghedom. His impactful work and personal ties to the Crenshaw neighborhood made him a beloved figure in the community.
Addressing the crowd during the ceremony, London shared her thoughts on the long-awaited dedication, recounting the dreams she and Nipsey shared.
“When Nip and I first began dating, he would often say as we drove past, ‘You know, Boogie, one day, this whole area will carry my name.’ Today, that vision has come to life,” she remarked.
In his remarks, Kameron mentioned that he had not visited this intersection since the tragic passing of Hussle in 2019, marking a poignant return.

Kameron also spoke and noted that he hadn’t returned to the intersection since Hussle’s death in 2019.
“Coming here was very hard. It’s my first time here since everything. Passing by it always seemed like a negative place. But seeing everybody here today and how we all came out and how it’s named after him, it changes the whole perspective on everything. [It} gives me hope that things can change. And now I feel empowered to be here. And it’s named after him. This is absolutely what he would have wanted,” he said.

He went on to connect the moment to a broader message about unity.
“Right here where everything happened is right where everything will grow. And right here where we all are, it’s only a microcosm of where we are as people in America. We’re going through a very hard time right now. There are a lot of unknowns. Sometimes you can look in the news and be like, there’s no hope. Like how I felt passing by or seeing this, like, this is just sad. All it is sadness. And that’s not all it has to be. If we all can come together, we can all uplift each other and get through these hard times. And these hard times can be the platform for us to grow and get better and get better than we were before. And if you need somebody to look to, to be like, why, why should I fight? Look to Ermias and fight together. We cannot fight divided. Stick together and we will grow and be better than we were before.”
London shares Kameron with rapper Lil Wayne. She and Hussle welcomed their son Kross in 2016. Hussle was also father to a daughter, Emani.
