Faye Chrisley, affectionately known as “Nanny,” is Todd Chrisley’s mother.
“I am blessed beyond measure that God chose you to be my mother,” Todd wrote in an Instagram tribute for Mother’s Day in 2021. “I love you more than you will ever know, and you fill my heart with love, hope, faith and confidence.”
Born in September 1944, Nanny was raised in South Carolina. She married Army veteran Gene Chrisley, and together they had sons Todd, Randy Chrisley and Derrick Chrisley. Derrick died as a baby, while Gene passed away in 2012.
During her time on Chrisley Knows Best, Nanny became a fan favorite thanks to her sharp humor, lively outings with her sister Frances, who died in 2022, dating adventures and candid advice. Whether she was visiting a casino, enjoying a glass of wine or spending time with loved ones, she showed viewers that she knew how to enjoy life.

Still, Nanny has faced her share of difficult moments. Alongside the legal troubles involving Todd and Julie, she was diagnosed with bladder cancer in 2021. Two years later, she revealed that she had overcome the illness.
“I’m in remission, thank God,” Nanny said during a 2023 episode of her granddaughter Lindsie’s podcast, The Southern Tea, according to People. “I’ve been out moving around, doing the best I can.”
That determination has long defined Nanny’s approach to life.
“The world don’t always give you a good deck of cards to play with, so you play with them the best you can,” she said on Savannah’s podcast, Unlocked, in 2023. “You get up, brush yourself off and keep going.”
