As Queen Camilla celebrated her 78th birthday on July 17, a story about King Charles‘ birthday celebration a month earlier was making the rounds.
The royal family patriarch’s official birthday was celebrated on June 14 in what’s known as Trooping the Colour. While King Charles’ actual birthday is in November, the sovereign’s public birthday celebration takes place on the second Saturday in June every year.
With all eyes on the royals that day, a professional lip reader dissected an animated conversation he saw the king and queen having as the festivities rolled on.

Lip-reading expert Jeremy Freeman analyzed the footage from the monarch’s birthday and picked up on some of the conversation between King Charles and Queen Camilla.
Freeman told Express that he observed the king saying to Camilla: “Absolutely crazy, disgrace, absolutely extraordinary.”
The expert shared that he also saw Charles telling his wife something about “on my way out” before continuing, “Meanwhile, not like me. That’s the difference between me and him.”
Although it’s not clear who exactly the king was referring to, the event took place amid ongoing tensions with his youngest son, Prince Harry, and his younger brother, Prince Andrew.
Former aide shares low-key way Queen Camilla may celebrate her birthday with King Charles
Former butler Paul Burrell began working in the royal household when he was 18 years old and became Queen Elizabeth II‘s personal footman. In 1987, he was moved to the household of then-Prince Charles and Princess Diana.
Speaking on behalf of Slingo, Burrell shared just how he thinks the king and queen will celebrate Camilla’s birthday, telling Showbiz Cheat Sheet: “I think privately, the king will give her a party at Clarence House or Birkhall and they’ll have people go up to Scotland.
“He likes to give her jewellery. I think he’ll give her something special. He may have had something commissioned for a birthday. He’s very spoiling, the king, and he will make sure that all attention is on Camilla. He likes to remind her that she’s queen. He likes to remind her that this is given by him for her service over the years to him, and this is his reward to her.”
Burrell explained that, unlike the king’s birthday, Camilla’s “will be behind closed doors. Maybe they’ll go back to the Ritz again because that was a milestone when they first stepped out together … Dining out for the royals isn’t easy. They have to have a private dining room. And their favourite places are the Ritz and Claridges because they can provide the security, the lockdown they need, and that purple corridor, that special place that they can move to and from without too much interaction with the public or the press. Because when they get dined out, they like it to be private.
“So that’s why those two places can offer them security and accommodations, which will be a smooth passage for them. Because they just can’t walk into any old restaurant, could they? No, it will be exactly far too difficult for them. It will be uncomfortable for them and it will be uncomfortable for the people dining with them.”
