The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star Lisa Barlow is rooting for her fellow Utah girl, Taylor Frankie Paul, as she embarks on her journey as the next lead of The Bachelorette.

Paul, of Secret Lives of Mormon Wives fame, announced on Call Her Daddy this morning that she will be looking for love on The Bachelorette Season 22, which is set to air on ABC sometime in 2026.

Barlow, who also happens to be friendly with Paul’s co-star Demi Engemann and her husband Bret Engemann (Utah is small, and the Mormon community is even smaller), reacted to the news when she stopped by Decider’s studio to talk about the new season of RHOSLC earlier today.

“I just heard that like 15 minutes ago and I died,” Barlow said. “Taylor’s very interesting to watch for me. I think she’s so raw. She’s so real. I think it would be hard to be in a relationship or close friends with her because of the way she values private information about herself and how she talks about it. It’s amazing to watch, I think it would be hard to experience.”

“I think she’s going to be an amazing Bachelorette,” Barlow continued. “I think we’re gonna get the raw, raw, raw version of everything happening. I think we’re gonna get, like, a very truthful synopsis of what’s going on.”

Paul, an OG founder of MomTok, turned heads in 2022 when she revealed on TikTok that she and her then-husband had been soft-swinging with their other Mormon friends. The 31-year-old single mom has been open about her divorce, which came after she cheated on her ex-husband with one of the other husbands in their soft-swinging group.

The aftermath of the scandal has been heavily documented on The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, which also followed the ups and downs of her relationship with Dakota Mortensen, whom she began seeing shortly after her divorce. Paul and Mortensen welcomed their first child together in March 2024, officially making Paul a mom-of-three.

While she might not be the first mother to go on The Bachelorette, she is the first celebrity to ever headline the show, leading many fans to wonder whether she’ll be given a crop of regular dudes to choose from, or if ABC will throw some other fellow reality stars into the mix to spice it up even more. The truth is, the possibilities are endless—and like Baby Gorgeous, we can’t wait to see the direction in which Paul takes this beloved franchise.
