Tragedy struck in Ogun State after a high-speed car race involving two students of Gateway ICT Polytechnic, Sapade, GAPOSA, ended in a fatal crash that claimed four lives, including the racers.

According to eyewitness accounts, the students reportedly placed a N30,000 bet, with the prize going to whoever won the race. The contest took a deadly turn when both vehicles lost control and crashed into a roadside shop at a garage.

Disturbing videos shared on X by user @Letter_to_Jack showed onlookers attempting to roll over one of the wrecked vehicles to retrieve lifeless bodies trapped underneath.

The incident has sparked outrage and concern on social media, with many calling for stricter enforcement against reckless driving and the growing culture of dangerous street racing among youths.

Neither the police nor the Gateway ICT Polytechnic has officially addressed the incident as of the time of this report.
