In a heartfelt homage, Macaulay Culkin honored the late comedic icon Catherine O’Hara, who sadly left us on January 30 at 71 years old.
The duo famously shared the screen in the beloved 1990 holiday film, Home Alone, with O’Hara playing the frantic mother of Culkin’s mischievous character. Their on-screen chemistry continued in the 1992 sequel, Home Alone 2: Lost in New York. Culkin marked this moment by posting a poignant collage on social media, juxtaposing images from their cherished film moments with a recent snapshot of the pair attending his Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony in 2023.
In his tribute, Culkin simply addressed her as “Mama,” expressing, “I thought we had time.”
He further shared his sorrow, writing, “I wanted more. I wanted to sit in a chair next to you. I heard you. But I had so much more to say. I love you. I’ll see you later.”
Catherine O’Hara’s passing was confirmed by her agency, Creative Artists Agency, stating she succumbed to an undisclosed illness after a brief battle. The news was first reported by TMZ.
Tributes to the late actress are already pouring in from many of her co-stars who had the pleasure of starring opposite her throughout her decades-long career.
