Mackenzie McKee announced her pregnancy to the world via The Drew Barrymore Show in March. Before she made the news public, she told her family. Mackenzie and her fiancé, Khesanio Hall, traveled to her mother’s gravesite in Oklahoma to share the big news. MTV cameras were there to capture the moment for Teen Mom: The Next Chapter.

The emotional scene aired on the April 24 episode of the series. Mackenzie revealed that she’s been having some difficulty with her current pregnancy because she doesn’t have her mother there to check in on her anymore. She acknowledged that Angie Douthit had been such an instrumental figure in her previous pregnancies that it felt especially strange this time without her. She said, “My mother was there every step of the way with all three pregnancies, and it has been extremely mentally tough to not even get to call her and tell her it’s twins.”

Mackenzie was referring to her pregnancies with her ex-husband. She has three children with her ex, Josh McKee. Their first child, Gannon McKee, was born in 2011. Their daughter, Jaxie McKee, was born in 2014. Their last child, Broncs McKee, was born in 2016. Mackenzie and Josh split for good in 2022. Mackenzie and Khesanio announced their engagement in 2024; their IVF journey was documented in Teen Mom: The Next Chapter. The twins will be Khesanio’s first biological children.

What did Angie Douthit die from?

Angie died in December 2019 after a nearly two-year battle with cancer. She was just 50. She was first diagnosed in January 2018 with metastatic cancer that began in her lungs. The cancer had spread to her brain, bones, and liver before her death. While her chance of long-term survival was slim, Angie did undergo several rounds of treatment in hopes of prolonging her life. Initially, she was given less than one year to live. She survived nearly two.

Mackenzie grieved the loss publicly, and while she has been open about her mother’s death, she has admitted to being in denial a bit. Mackenzie revealed that she doesn’t often visit her mother’s gravesite as it makes it more “real.” Angie never met Khesanio, although Mackenzie’s father approves of the pairing.
