The first Married At First Sight dinner party is set to erupt in fireworks when bride Jamie Marinos takes aim at Tim Gromie in what is said to be the most explosive showdown of the season.

Daily Mail Australia can exclusively reveal that the marketing manager, 28, will go head-to-head with the divisive school teacher, 38, after his treatment of his bride Katie Johnstone.

Tim shocked viewers on Tuesday night when he brutally rejected Katie at their wedding, pulling producers aside and telling them that she wasn’t what he wanted and preferred ‘a petite blonde’. 

During the first cocktail party, Jamie wasted no time calling out Tim for his bad behaviour after Katie arrived alone and revealed she hadn’t heard from her groom since they returned from their honeymoon.

‘I trusted my gut about this man and I was right. I just knew it,’ Jamie told Daily Mail Australia on Wednesday. ‘Honestly, if anything, I should have gone even harder.’

While most couples entered the dinner party glowing from their honeymoons, Katie stunned the room by walking in without Tim.

Producers stepped in to shield her as she made her way into the Sydney warehouse where filming took place on August 6. 

A source told Daily Mail Australia that Tim’s arrival only fuelled tensions as he spent the night dodging questions and deflecting blame, prompting Jamie to step in and hold him accountable. 

According to the insider, Jamie ‘went into full defence mode’ as soon as Tim started talking in circles and she refused to let him off the hook.

‘She wasn’t going to sit there and let him get away with it,’ the source said.

‘She’s the first bride this season who hasn’t taken s**t from anyone, and she made that very clear. Everyone was in shock.’

The fiery exchange reached boiling point when a visibly rattled Tim stormed out of the room, leaving the table in stunned silence.

Jamie told Daily Mail Australia she has no regrets about her explosive confrontation with Tim.

‘My advice to anyone is don’t put your hand in the lion’s cage unless you want to be bitten,’ she said. 

Tim and Katie’s wedding on Tuesday night has been described as a ‘trainwreck’, after he made it clear within moments of seeing the redhead, 37, at the altar that she was not what he was hoping for.

Despite Katie’s warm smile and effort to break the ice with a hug, Tim recoiled, leaving her visibly awkward and confused. 

Behind-the-scenes, Tim pulled a producer aside during their wedding reception to vent his frustrations.

‘Totally not what I wanted. Not good,’ Tim declared bluntly.

‘I normally go for short, petite, blonde or brunette. Katie’s nothing like what I usually go for. There’s just no attraction. I can tell straight away.’ 

Tim continued to lament his lack of connection, stating he felt ‘shattered’ and ’embarrassed’ by the match.

‘I feel like I’ve wasted my time. I just want to run away,’ he admitted.
