A man identified as Eze Elechi Amadi has confessed to killing his 18-year-old younger brother, Otu Ifeanyi, in Kajola, Odigbo Local Government Area of Ondo State, over a financial dispute.

Amadi was paraded by the Ondo State Police Command alongside 99 other suspected criminals in Akure, the state capital, over the weekend.

According to Commissioner of Police, Adebowale Lawal, the case came to light when a resident, Oluwafemi Oladipupo of Paragon Street, Kajola, reported a suspicious blue plastic drum tied with a black rope in front of his residence. Upon inspection, the lifeless body of Otu Ifeanyi was discovered inside the drum.

The drum, which was being transported on a motorcycle by Amadi, reportedly fell off during the attempt to dispose of the body. He was immediately apprehended and handed over to the police.

During interrogation, Amadi admitted to killing his younger brother, accusing him of unlawfully transferring ₦20,000 from his Ecobank account.

“The corpse has been deposited at the mortuary while further investigation is ongoing. The suspect will be charged to court upon conclusion of the investigation,” CP Lawal stated.
