Congratulations are in order!
R&B singer Mario and his girlfriend are expecting their first child together. The couple shared the news on Instagram with a series of maternity photos showing the singer proudly holding and kissing his partner’s growing baby bump.
In one snap, Mario’s girlfriend posed in a white crop top and sparkling gold skirt while he cradled her belly from behind. Another shot captured the singer leaning down to kiss her stomach as she lounged in a hot pink set.
“Whooopps I ate too much brownies,” she joked in the caption.
The announcement got mixed reactions from fans who have followed Mario’s career from his early 2000s hits like “Let Me Love You” to his latest projects. While many congratulated the couple, others reignited criticism over his choice of partner.

The big reveal comes nearly two years after Mario’s relationship first grabbed headlines for all the wrong reasons.
Back in December 2023, Mario faced backlash when he introduced his girlfriend on social media.
Some fans slammed him, with one saying, “This just made him 10x unattractive,” while another claimed, “European society really did a number on Black men brainwashing them [to] think white is the standard of beauty,” per Rolling Out.
Mario later addressed the criticism on Way Up With Angela Yee in December 2024, where he publicly showed love to his partner.
“I love her yeah of course but it’s a safe place. She’s a good person. I trust her. If I trust you and you’re you’re a good person and I know you’re not like weird and you ain’t trying to be all in the blogs and stuff like that like…”
And for the record, Mario clarified that his girlfriend is not white: “She is Mexican.”
