Could Bensler be making a comeback?
The question gained fresh momentum after Mariska Hargitay posted a behind-the-scenes photo featuring her former Law & Order: Special Victims Unit costar, Christopher Meloni, during production on the show’s 28th season.
In the selfie, Hargitay, 62, points toward Meloni, 64, who is standing with his back to the camera. She captioned the Sept. 22 Instagram post with a playful question: “Who dat?”
Meloni recently declined to comment when E! News asked about speculation surrounding a possible SVU return. Hargitay, however, appeared to confirm his involvement in the NBC crime drama’s milestone 600th episode by sharing another photo of the longtime friends together. “Happy 600,” she wrote.

The on-screen reunion arrives five months after Law & Order: Organized Crime was canceled after five seasons. The spinoff followed Meloni’s character, Elliot Stabler, as he worked with New York City’s Organized Crime Control Bureau.
Following the cancellation, Meloni thanked viewers in an Instagram video for supporting Stabler throughout his run in the Law & Order franchise. “I wanted to take this moment to thank the fans who not only helped give the character of Elliot Stabler life and longevity, but for sticking with him and welcoming him back,” he said. “I had a great time playing him. It was a great ride, but thank you.”
