Just over two years into his role as Live with Kelly and Mark co-host, Mark Consuelos is now well aware of the early mornings involved — and how frequent weeknight outings may be a thing of the past.

Kelly Ripa admitted on Tuesday that she and Consuelos were “a little tired” after attending a “beautiful event” the night before.

“We don’t go out on school nights, but we were out. Right away, when you see us out on a school night, it’s like looking at unicorns in the wild,” she teased. “We don’t know how to find our seat, we don’t know how to eat.”

Consuelos recalled, “I used to drag you out during the week.”

Ripa agreed, “All the time.”

While Ripa claimed it was her husband’s “favorite” thing to do before he became her co-host on Live, Consuelos was baffled by his old antics.

“I was like, ‘What’s the big deal? It’s an hour in the morning. What? You can just go in there and just do the thing,’” he said of Ripa helming Live. “And now I’m looking at my clock and I’m like, ‘Oh my gosh, it’s 9:00. 9:00 at night. I’m 45 minutes past my bedtime.”

Ripa added, “You used to make me go to dinner at 9:00.”

Consuelos quipped, “What was wrong with me?”

Ripa then seized the opportunity to rib Consuelos.

“Oh, I mean, so much,” she joked. “This is only a one-hour show, and we have to interview celebrities.”
