Freddie Freeman began his Major League Baseball career in 2010 with the Atlanta Braves.

After playing for the club for 11 seasons and winning the 2021 World Series, he left in free agency. The athlete ended up signing a six-year, $162 million contract with the Los Angeles Dodgers and won a World Series with that team in 2024.

While his accomplishments on the baseball diamond are well-documented, not a ton is known about his wife. Here’s more about Chelsea Freeman and their family.

When Freddie and Chelsea started dating

Chelsea Goff was born in Florida on April 24, 1991.

In late 2010, she met Freddie and the two began dating soon after. At the time, Freddie was playing for the Braves and Chelsea was in college at the University of Central Florida. A few years later, Freddie popped the question, and they got engaged.

In a 2014 Instagram post, Chelsea shared a collage of photos of the pair and gushed: “He makes me smile every single day, he encourages me when I’m down, he still opens my car door, he’s learned to buy me a card and flowers every birthday. I’ve watched him mature into the amazing man he is today.

“He is the first and only man I have ever loved … 3 years ago he asked me to be his girlfriend. And I’m sure glad he did. I could not imagine life without you and I cannot wait to be your wife!!!”

Chelsea appeared on a TV show before they got married

Freddie and Chelsea tied the knot on Nov. 22, 2014, at the St. Regis Bal Harbour in Miami. But before saying “I do,” the bride-to-be appeared on the show Say Yes to the Dress: Atlanta.

She ended up selecting two gowns: a fitted mermaid dress with a long train and sweetheart neckline, which she wore for the ceremony, and a beaded V-neck dress with a textured net skirt covered in ostrich feathers, which she changed into during the reception.

Chelsea has worked as a model and real estate agent. Today, she has her own line of baseball merch from accessories to children’s clothes under the label Chelsea Freeman Collection.

How many children Freddie and Chelsea have

Freddie and Chelsea have three children together.

Their first child, Frederick Charles “Charlie” Freeman II, arrived on Sept. 15, 2016.

The couple experienced fertility issues and after speaking with doctors, they decided to work with a surrogate. However, Chelsea discovered that she was pregnant at the same time as their surrogate. Their son, Brandon, was born first on Dec. 20, 2020, followed by Maximus on Feb. 14, 2021.

When speaking about Freddie as a father to the children, Chelsea told EPSN: “As long as I’ve known him, he said that since he was a little boy, he always knew he wanted to be a dad. As important as being a baseball player to him is, I think being a dad is even more important.”
