A.J. Brown is one of the best wide receivers in the NFL today. He was selected by the Tennessee Titans in the second round of the 2019 draft. In a shocking move, the team traded him to the Philadelphia Eagles in the 2022 off-season, and he’s been flying high with the Birds ever since.

In May 2025, the star athlete announced that he got engaged to his partner, Kelsey Riley. Video of the moment he popped the question showed that a popular singer helped Brown pull off the perfect proposal.

How long Brown and Riley have been together

Kelsey Riley was born on Aug. 26, 1997, to parents Rae and Kevin. She grew up in Belle Chasse, Louisiana, and has one brother.

Like Brown, Kelsey is a Christian and an athlete as well, having played softball in college at Texas Southern University.

“What lies behind me, and what lies before me are small matters compared to what lies within me,” Riley posted on Instagram in 2019 shortly before she graduated. “Softball has provided me with the biggest opportunity I could’ve ever imagined … free education.”

Two years later, she shared the news on X that she had been accepted into nursing school. Per her LinkedIn, she works in the healthcare field for CHI St. Luke’s Health – Baylor St. Luke’s Medical Center, which is headquartered in Houston.

Riley and Brown were spotted out holding hands in 2022 and went Instagram official with their relationship soon after.

Brown planned an epic proposal to Riley and had a little help from John Legend

Three months after winning his first Super Bowl with the Eagles, Brown and Riley had something else to celebrate when they got engaged.

The proposal took place at the Four Seasons in Philadelphia with a little help from Grammy-winning recording artist John Legend. The musician sang and played the piano as Brown got down on one knee and asked for Riley’s hand in marriage.

Riley wiped away tears as Brown presented the ring. She happily accepted, and the two were then joined by some of football player’s teammates as well as their friends and family.

How many children Brown and Riley have

Brown has one daughter, Jersee, born in 2020, from a previous relationship, and shares one child with Riley.

They welcomed their son, Arthur Juan Brown Jr., nicknamed “Duecy,” in September 2022.

Following his birth, Brown gushed about being a father, telling NBC Sports, “Now that I have a little boy, a little son, it means the world to me. Hopefully, I can play long enough for him to understand that his dad’s in the NFL.”

The wideout also talked about being a family man and how much he loves spending time with his children.

“Man, I’m a happy, happy man,” he told SJ Mag. “My kids, I love being with my family … When I’m not here, I’m home and I’m watching movies … and playing with my kids. I’m a big family guy. I love it all.”
