Meet the Cast of Hallmark Channel’s ‘Texas Two-Step’: A Guide to the Stars of This Country Romance

In this heartwarming tale, viewers will follow Olivia, played by Heather Hemmens, as she returns to her Texas roots to assist her aunt with a struggling country bar. Amidst the melodies and memories, Olivia’s passion for dance is rekindled, and she crosses paths once more with her old love, Luke, portrayed by Brendan Penny.

1. Heather Hemmens plays Olivia, a Texas native who grew up with her aunt and has fond memories of the country bar she owns. Though Olivia is currently working as a producer for a high-profile photographer, she longs for more out of work, and to one day be the one behind the camera.

   Hemmens is a Hallmark Channel fixture, most recently starring in 2025’s The Snow Must Go On alongside Corey Cott. Outside of the network, she is best known for her work on If Loving You is Wrong, Dad Stop Embarrassing Me!, and Roswell, New Mexico.

3. Luke (played by Brendan Penny) is Olivia’s childhood sweetheart, who has stayed in the town of Blue Creek and is a certified cowboy. However, his feelings for Olivia may have never subsided after she left town.

   Penny is a Hallmark hunk, with his most recent credit at the network being in last year’s The More the Merrier with Rachel Boston. He has also appeared in movies like John Tucker Must Die, I Love You, Beth Cooper, and Fifty Shades Freed .

4. Ruby (BJ Harrison) is Olivia’s aunt and the proud owner of Sweetwaters, the best country music bar in Blue Creek, Texas. Now running the business alone in the wake of her husband’s passing, Ruby is happy to have Olivia back home, though she doesn’t necessarily want all of her help.

   Harrison is no stranger to Hallmark Channel, as Texas Two-Step marks her second film for the network this year following April’s I’ll Be Seeing You. Her decades-long career also includes appearances in Tooth Fairy, Rise of the Planet of the Apes, and IT: Welcome to Derry.

5. June (played by Kaylah Zander) is Olivia’s best friend, who accompanies her to Texas to meet her famous Aunt Ruby. However, another one of Olivia’s relatives might just catch her eye.

   Zander is best known for playing Amelia Salazar in Netflix‘s The Recruit. She has also appeared in shows like Fire Country, Goosebumps, Tracker, Virgin River, and Memory of a Killer.

6. Nathan Witte plays Mason, Olivia’s second cousin who is juggling a job as a vet, serving as Blue Creek’s mayor, and caring for his Aunt Ruby. However, he might just find time for love, too.

   Witte has worked on many a Hallmark Channel movie, including 2025’s The Wish Swap. Among his other TV credits are Arrow, Chesapeake Shores, A Million Little Things, and Murder in a Small Town.

7. Bryan Boone (Zach Smadu) grew up with Olivia in Blue Creek, and has grown up quite a bit since he last saw her, and has become a very successful entrepreneur.

   Smadu starred as Daniel Svensson in Family Law, and has racked up TV roles on shows like Kim’s Convenience, Cardinal, and Wild Cards.
