A young Nigerian woman has ignited a lively discussion online by asserting that men, rather than women, are the ones with a significant biological clock. She suggests that men start losing their value once they reach the age of 30.
In a video posted on X (formerly known as Twitter) by user Teniola, the woman cites a study that purportedly indicates men’s biological clocks tick faster than those of women.
She contends that a man’s peak years are during his twenties, describing this period as when he is “fresh and fertile.” She claims that after turning 30, men begin to experience a decline in their prime years.
In her statement, she remarked: “As a man, your prime is in your 20s. You’re fresh and fertile during this time. Once you hit your 30s, your biological clock is ticking. It’s time to consider settling down because nobody is interested in marrying an old, expired man.”
“As a man, your prime is in your 20s. You’re fresh and fertile in your 20s. Once you cross into your 30s, your biological clock is ticking. You need to start thinking of settling down because nobody wants to marry an old, expired man.
Her statement triggered massive reactions online. Many men disagreed, insisting it is women who face biological pressure.
An X user commented, “Biological clock for men? Na motivational talk be this one.” Another said, “Tell her say 40-year-old men still dey marry fine babes.”
Some, however, supported her view, saying men also lose physical appeal and fertility as they age.
The viral video has reignited a long-standing gender debate about age, marriage, and value, leaving Nigerians divided over who truly has the ticking clock between both genders.
