Renowned gospel singer Mercy Chinwo and her husband, Pastor Blessed Uzochikwa, brightened the festive season for residents of the Rumudara community in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, with an inspiring act of generosity.

On December 30, 2024, the couple, through their Mercy Is Blessed Foundation, distributed essential items to support and uplift disadvantaged members of the community. Beneficiaries included the elderly, single mothers, and other vulnerable individuals who received bags of rice, garri, cartons of tomato paste, tubers of yams, clothing materials, and cash gifts.

The foundation operates as an outreach arm of Mercy Chinwo’s Grace and Truth Nation (GNT) Music Label. Speaking on the initiative, Pastor Blessed emphasized the importance of giving as an expression of love, citing John 3:16:

“The central goal of Christ is love, and He is the reason for the season. Giving is the DNA of love.”

He further highlighted that the foundation’s efforts extend beyond immediate relief, aiming to empower recipients with sustainable livelihoods for long-term benefits.

The heartwarming gesture has been widely praised as a reflection of true Christian values and a source of joy for the Rumudara community during the holiday season.

“Love is about giving, and that is why the Mercy Is Blessed Foundation has made it a central idea to share the love of Jesus Christ with people who don’t know where their next meal would come from. The goal is not just giving them food items but empowering and establishing them to have sustainable means of income,” he added.
