Live with Kelly and Mark experienced a notable absence on Wednesday as one half of its dynamic duo, Kelly Ripa, was missing from her hosting duties.
Over the past few days, viewers warmly welcomed Kevin Jonas, who stepped in for Kelly Ripa on Monday (July 27) and Tuesday (July 28). On Wednesday morning, Mark Consuelos continued the show, leading the syndicated talk show beside the charming Mila Kunis.
Consuelos tantalized the audience earlier, dropping hints about the appearance of the That ’70s Show alum during Tuesday’s broadcast, which also featured sports commentator Joe Buck and actress Lacey Chabert. The Wednesday episode promised exciting exchanges with guests Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Ice-T.
An inside source confirmed to DECIDER that the current season of Live with Kelly and Mark will run through August 28, after which the beloved Live team will enjoy their traditional summer hiatus. Fans, however, can rest easy; fresh episodes and new segments will continue to delight viewers throughout August.
Earlier in the week, Consuelos updated fans about Ripa’s absence, revealing she underwent gum graft surgery. He reassured the audience that Ripa is “doing well” but needs to refrain from speaking as she recovers from the “painful” process.
Entertainment Weekly reports that Ripa will be absent from at least two weeks of episodes amid her recovery. While Jonas and Kunis have stepped in for Ripa thus far, others co-hosting alongside Consuelos this week include Pamela Adlon on Thursday and Scott Foley on Friday.
Per EW, the show’s annual summer break will kick off the week of Aug. 10. As for next week, Sarah Chalke, Jenna Dewan, Live‘s own Déjà Vu, Michelle Buteau, and Carrie Coon will serve as guest co-hosts, according to the outlet.
