Monica and her daughter Laiyah are setting major fashion goals! The singer shared a series of Instagram photos this week, showcasing her twinning moments with 11-year-old Laiyah in a variety of stylish outfits.

In the first post, the duo wore coordinating black-and-white fur coats for the Mystic Krewe Femme Fatale private event. Monica captioned the moment, “Teaching Our Daughter That She’s Really H•E•R. I Had The Esteemed Honor of Performing & Becoming an Honorary Member of @mkff2013.”

In another post, Monica and Laiyah sported chic looks from Milano Di Rouge. They looked like schoolgirls in the brand’s trendy Lux Signature Crewneck skirt.

“Class is Always In Session • LIFE UNIVERSITY LIVE•LOVE•LEARN. New Orleans We [love] You,” Monica captioned. She added an inspiring note, encouraging community investment: “The Best way to Build a Community is Buy in it!! Babygirl & I in @milanodirouge.”

Laiyah, who celebrated her 11th birthday in September, received a touching tribute from her mom on her special day.

Monica wrote on Instagram at the time, “My Life changed (for the better) the second I knew I was carrying you. My Virgo Princess … Born Sept 3rd Yet Celebrated Daily… Know you’re enough & Gods love & covering shall forever be with you…. LET’S Skate Babygirl….”

In a recent Hello Beautiful interview, Monica opened up about supporting her daughter’s dreams.

“I’m not directing her or redirecting her away from what her goals and dreams are,” Monica said. “We’re pushing her towards it because I think she has the right support system to be a part of what she wants to be a part of. But I love the joy of having a daughter. I love the fun of us being able to talk about some of the female things.”

Monica shares Laiyah with her ex-husband Shannon Brown and is also the proud mom of two sons, Romelo, 16, and Rodney, 18, from her relationship with Rodney “Rocko” Hill. She embraces her role as a bonus mom to Hill’s son Ramone, 28.
