Mother cries out as malaria drug causes son’s tongue to hang out, lands in hospital

A Nigerian mother has raised alarm after her son developed frightening symptoms following the use of a malaria drug.

According to a post shared on TikTok by the mother, identified as @promise_busari, the boy suddenly found it impossible to swallow his saliva or retract his tongue after taking the medication.

The condition was so severe that he had to be hospitalized.

Describing the moment, the distraught mother wrote: “It was so scary to watch, but thank God he’s fine.”

She also posted a video of the drug in question, revealing how she had purchased and administered it with hopes of curing her son’s illness, only for it to cause unexpected harm.

In her words: “It’s turn! Mine couldn’t even swallow his own saliva. His tongue came all out 😢.”

The emotional post quickly gained attention online, prompting concerned users to flood the comment section with reactions and support.
