Despite rumors, ‘The Real Housewives of New York City’ has not been canceled, and Bravo is actively searching for new cast members.

Andy Cohen is clarifying the status of The Real Housewives of New York City in light of rumors that Bravo has canceled the show.

Bravo has met with potential new cast members for ‘RHONY,’ Andy Cohen says

Cohen addressed the future of RHONY during a recent episode of his SiriusXM show Andy Cohen Live saying that there are plans for the reality series to return for season 16.

“I guess I need to say again, even though Bravo said it … I don’t know how else to say it. We are between seasons on the Housewives,” he said, addressing speculation that swirled following the network’s announcement last week regarding new and returning shows.

Bravo confirmed that it had ordered new seasons of many Real Housewives show and that a new addition to the franchise, The Real Housewives of Rhode Island, was in the works. But there was no word on the future of either RHONY or The Real Housewives of New Jersey

RHONY was rebooted in 2023 with an all-new cast. The new group of ladies has received a mixed response from viewers. Cohen said that there would be new faces when the show did return.

“What’s so interesting is last week, when I was here, the Bravo execs met with 10 potential new Real Housewives of New York,” he said. “This is called the casting process between seasons, and it’s heavily underway. And that’s why nothing has been announced.”

Previously, Page Six reported that RHONY was being put on ice as the network tried to salvage the series, which premiered in 2008. But finding women willing to open up their lives to Bravo’s cameras was proving difficult, according to a source.

“We’re trying to figure that show out,” an insider said. “We want to figure it out. We think there’s still life in it.”
