Welcome back, Wednesday Addams, we’ve been dying to see you.

In just one month, Netflix’s highly anticipated series, Wednesday, will return for Season 2 and now, the streaming service is shifting into gear, releasing the first trailer for the Jenna Ortega-led project and announcing a worldwide press tour to accompany.

In the new trailer, Wednesday (Ortega) is back at Nevermore Academy after the unpredictable events in Season 1, with her mother, Morticia (Catherine Zeta-Jones), even remarking that this is the first school Wednesday has ever returned to willingly. At the end of Season 1, Wednesday finally found out who the Hyde was that was terrorizing Nevermore, which has now made her somewhat of a celebrity on campus… You can predict how that’s going over for her.

Of course, it wouldn’t be an installment of Tim Burton‘s dark dramedy if it didn’t have stakes (both the wooden kind to ward of vampires and the metaphorical ones) and this season, it’s Enid (Emma Myers) — Wednesday’s unlikely best friend from Season 1 — who appears to be in peril and requiring some assistance. The newly released trailer sees Wednesday with visions of Enid’s death and her gravestone, although what is getting her is unclear.

“I know what those tears mean,” Morticia says to Wednesday as a shot of her with black tears rolls down her face. “Enid dies and it’s all my fault,” Wednesday replies solemnly to which her mother retorts, “I will not let history repeat itself.” A mystery inside a mystery? Wednesday Season 2 is shaping up to be a dramatic one.

“This season, Wednesday’s journey is darker and more complex as she navigates family, friends, new mysteries, and old adversaries, propelling her headlong into another year at Nevermore,” co-showrunners Alfred Gough and Miles Millar told Tudum of what to expect in Season 2.

Additionally, in anticiaption of the second season’s release, the cast and crew of the show will be heading out on “a delightfully dreadful misadventure,” taking over Australia, Canada, England, France, Italy, Poland, Romania, South Korea, and the USA in July and August. More information is TBD so be on the lookout for the tour to come to a city or country near you.

The series first debuted in November 2022 and quickly became a fan favorite on Netflix, quickly racking up millions of views and becoming a phenomenon on social media. Who can forget the iconic dance from Wednesday that blew up on TikTok and had everyone from tiny tots to major celebrities partaking in the trend. Since then, it’s been slow moving progress on getting Season 2 until Netflix shared earlier this year that the series would finally be returning for its highly-anticipated second season in the summer.

Aside from Ortega, Zeta-Jones, and Myers, the series stars Percy Hynes White as Xavier Thorpe, Luis Guzmán as Gomez Addams, Isaac Ordonez as Pugsley Addams, and Fred Armisen as Uncle Fester. Season 2 will also welcome newcomers Steve Buscemi — taking over as principal of Nevermore after Gwendoline Christie’s character’s Season 1 end — as well as Doctor Who alum Billie Piper, Christopher Lloyd, Thandiwe Newton, Joanna Lumley, Haley Joel Osment, Lady Gaga and more.

Wednesday Season 2 Part 1 premieres on Wednesday, August 6, and Part 2 on Wednesday, September 3.
