Football fans weren’t the only ones surprised by NFL quarterback Aaron Rodgers’ reveal that he is married. Apparently, New York Jets WAGs didn’t know, either.

“I didn’t know of any partner,” Jessie Vera-Tucker, wife of Jets guard Alijah Vera-Tucker, told People in a story published Tuesday, August 26, following the release of Prime Video’s The Home Team: New York Jets.

“I didn’t know he had a partner either, oh my gosh,” echoed Maranda Williams, who is married to defensive end Quinnen Williams.

Rodgers, 41, now plays for the Pittsburgh Steelers. He revealed during a press conference in June that he had married his wife, Brittani, “a couple months” prior.

“It literally came out of nowhere,” Vera-Tucker added, as Williams replied. “Oh wow, I never saw anyone. Never met anyone.”

Rodgers hasn’t revealed much about Brittani, other than that she is not interested in the limelight.

“Didn’t want that. Didn’t like any of that,” Rodgers said in a June appearance on the Pat McAfee Show. “And now I’m with somebody who’s private, who doesn’t want to be in the public eye. Didn’t sign up to be a celebrity. Doesn’t want to be a part of it. Because I do things in private, because I want my personal life to be private, now I’m weird.”

“My private life is my private life,” he added. “It’s gonna stay that way. I’m with somebody who wants to be private. If and when she wants to be out and there’s a picture, she’ll choose that. She deserves a right to that.”

Rodgers’ personal life has been public for virtually his entire pro career. His high-profile exes include former fiancée Shailene Woodley, as well as girlfriends Olivia Munn and Danica Patrick.

The future Hall of Famer was a member of the Green Bay Packers from 2005 to 2022 before spending two seasons with the Jets.

“When Aaron came to the team, that was so surreal, so awesome,” Vera-Tucker said, adding that because her husband is a lineman, it was his job “to protect that man.”

“So, to protect someone with such a history — it’s such an awesome experience and so cool to be a part of their story. It was really exciting to know that he’s going to be here,” she added.

Rodgers and the Steelers will, appropriately, open the 2025 regular season on Sunday, September 7, on the road against the Jets.
