The tension between Nicki Minaj and Jay-Z is making waves in the hip-hop community. Initially ignited by creative and industry disagreements, the details of their fallout remain largely under wraps, but the feud has fueled much speculation among fans. Nicki Minaj just tagged Jay-Z in an X post that claimed she’s no longer releasing her next album
Minaj’s post on October 15, 2025, has left her followers reeling, as they process the unexpected news and its implications for her music career.
Nicki Minaj’s fans are stunned by her X post, which she released on Oct. 15, 2025.
“Ok I’m not going to put out the album anymore. No more music. Hope you’re happy now [sic],” she posted. Minaj then tagged Jay-Z’s X account, @sc.
“Bye, Barbz,” she continued. “Love you for life.”
Minaj’s ongoing feud with Jay-Z has intensified in recent months. The conflict appears to have roots in Minaj’s dissatisfaction with her involvement in Jay-Z’s streaming platform, TIDAL. According to XXL Magazine, she claims that she was shortchanged for her 3% equity stake, alleging she received only $1 million instead of an estimated $9 million, and now asserts that Jay-Z owes her between $100-$200 million.
The feud escalated in 2024 when Minaj criticized Jay-Z and Roc Nation CEO Desiree Perez for selecting Kendrick Lamar over Lil Wayne to perform at the Super Bowl Halftime Show in New Orleans. She expressed that the opportunity should have gone to New Orleans native Lil Wayne.
As of now, Jay-Z has not publicly responded to Minaj’s X post about her scrapping her record. And it’s unclear what Jay-Z has to do with Minaj’s recent decision.
