NLE CHOPPA can now add author to his professional resume. The 23-year old recently had a read-a-long with Memphis preschoolers of his new book, “Cricket Stop Cricking”.

The rapper read his new book with the students at Porter-Leath Preschool and the media was there to catch the endearingly special moment.

“One thing that I realized with children’s movies and children’s books is that there’s a message in there that’s so clear and easy to come across,” NLE Choppa said in an interview with Fox 13 Memphis, who captured the moment on video.

In his interview, the father-of-two went on to explain finding that special educational message to convey to children is the core foundation children’s entertainment.

So just what is the special message found in the pages of “Cricket Stop Cricking”? NLE Choppa explained the outlet the message behind the book. “I think books like this can open a palette to becoming open to learning things of that nature,” NLE Choppa said. “The moral of the story is to be kind to other people.”

This was truly a special moment for the preschoolers as “Cricket Stop Cricking” has not even dropped for purchasing. The rapper shared a carousel of images of his read-a-long on Instagram, beginning the caption, “Today I Had The Honor To Read My Children’s Book “Cricket Stop Cricking” To Porter-Leath Preschool.”

He concluded, “Man so excited for yall to read this book I’m releasing it soon, maybe August. It’s my first book and it happened to be one for the kids. God is the GREATEST.”

As mentioned, NLE Choppa is a father-of-two. His daughter, Clover Brylie Potts, was born on June 20, 2020, and his son, ChoZen Wone Da’Shun Potts, was born on August 16, 2023.

The Memphis-native shares his daughter with former girlfriend, Mariah J. and son with his former girlfriend, Marissa Da’Nae.
