Renowned Nollywood actor Davis Offor, celebrated for his memorable portrayal of Clarus in the beloved sitcom “The New Masquerade,” has reportedly died.
The announcement of his passing was made by Tony Akposheri, a fellow actor who played Zacky on the hit series.
On Tuesday, April 7, Akposheri expressed his grief on Facebook, honoring Offor not only as a professional peer but as a cherished friend and brother whose lively presence could light up any room.
In his heartfelt message, Akposheri reminisced about recent times spent with Offor, which made the news of his death even more poignant. “Today, my heart is heavy. Davis Offor, fondly known as Clarus from New Masquerade, is gone,” he wrote. Akposheri fondly remembered their shared New Year celebrations, filled with joy, reminiscing, and optimistic conversations about what lay ahead.
“We stepped into the New Year together, laughing, sharing stories, and looking forward to the days ahead. Little did we know that time was already counting differently for you,” Akposheri added, highlighting the suddenness of the loss.
The tribute emphasized that Offor’s real-life warmth and optimism went far beyond his on-screen persona. Akposheri described him as a man whose humor, kindness, and presence drew people in naturally.
“You were more than just a familiar face on television. You were a friend, a brother, and someone whose warmth and energy could light up any space,” he wrote, admitting that coming to terms with the sudden passing is difficult.
“It’s hard to believe that the voice I heard not long ago is now a memory. It’s difficult to accept that someone so full of life can suddenly become a story we recount.”
