Among the nominees is Blue Ivy Carter, who won the award in 2024. The 13-year-old is nominated once again as she continues her rise in entertainment. Currently touring with her mom Beyoncé on the Cowboy Carter tour, Blue Ivy continues to impress with her growth as a performer.

Also on the list is Heiress Harris, the 9-year-old daughter of T.I. and Tiny. With original songs like “Be You” and her festive single “Christmas Wake Up,” Heiress is building a diverse portfolio in music and acting, establishing herself as a rising young star.

Akira Akbar, 18, brings strong film and TV credentials to the category. Known for Captain Marvel and Bel-Air, she’s earned acclaim for her powerful screen presence and versatility.

Melody Hurd, 13, returns to the spotlight with credits in Them, Fatherhood, and the television series Cross. Her ability to deliver emotional and mature performances continues to separate her from the pack.

Twelve-year-old Graceyn “Gracie” Hollingsworth, best known as the voice of the hit animated series Gracie’s Corner, continues to inspire families through educational songs and videos that have become a staple for kids across the country.

At 17, Thaddeus J. Mixson is already building an impressive résumé with roles in Candy Cane Lane (2023), The Madness, and Creed III (2023). His work shows a range and screen presence that continues to grow with each project.

Tyrik Johnson, 16, broke out in the 2022 historical film Till, starring alongside Jalyn Hall. He also appears in Lady in the Lake, and his performances have earned him growing recognition in dramatic roles.

Rounding out the list is VanVan, the 6-year-old rapper whose viral videos and stage presence made a splash at the 2024 BET Awards. Her charisma and talent have captured hearts, earning her a well-deserved nomination.

The YoungStars Award honors young entertainers making an impact in TV, film, music, or sports. The 2025 nominees reflect a generation of talent already shaping the culture.
