North West is unfazed by online criticism. The 12-year-old daughter of Kim Kardashian and Kanye West addressed the backlash surrounding her dermal finger piercing with a TikTok post on Tuesday, offering a cheeky response to her detractors.
In the video, North playfully lip-syncs to an audio clip that asks, “Why are you crying? How old are you? Just pull it together.” Her choice of audio seemed to serve as a lighthearted jab at those who have taken issue with her fashion statement.

Adding to her TikTok post, North included a caption that left no room for misinterpretation: “This is for everyone that’s mad over a finger piercing.” Her message was direct, underscoring her confidence and unwillingness to be swayed by public opinion.
The conversation around North’s piercing began in September when she was spotted in Rome with her mother, showcasing the microdermal jewelry on her middle finger. The accessory quickly became a hot topic on social media, stirring debate over whether it was age-appropriate.
While some critics expressed concern over the maturity of the look, a significant number of supporters argued that North should be allowed to express her individuality through her fashion choices, just as she has done in the past.
Kim has previously opened up about North’s approach to style. During an October 15 appearance on the Call Her Daddy podcast, the SKIMS founder shared that her daughter doesn’t let outside opinions influence how she expresses herself.
“She’s really mature in one sense where she’ll be like, ‘Mom, I saw this and I don’t really care that they don’t like my blue hair or this or that,’” Kim explained. “She’s really confident…”

The reality star also opened up about the learning curve that comes with raising a preteen, especially one growing up in the spotlight.
She admitted she has made missteps along the way and asked for “a little bit of grace” as she figures things out in real time. “I’m like, okay, we’re never wearing that again. Unfortunately, we made that mistake in front of the whole world,” Kim said. “As a mom, you’re kind of learning at the same time.”
