This past weekend, North West made her debut on the music festival scene.
The 12-year-old, daughter of Kim Kardashian and Kanye West, surprised audiences with an appearance at Rolling Loud in Orlando on Saturday night.
Taking the stage at Camping World Stadium, North teamed up with rapper Molly Santana to deliver what seemed like an unreleased track. The festival night was bustling with performances from stars like Playboi Carti, Rich The Kid, Destroy Lonely, and more.
Videos of North’s performance quickly spread across social media. She donned a striking long blue wig, black sunglasses, and a leather ensemble as she energetically performed alongside Santana, much to the delight of the cheering crowd.
North’s Rolling Loud appearance marks just the beginning of her festival journey this year. She is slated to perform again next month at Summer Smash in Chicago, sharing the stage with artists such as Lil Uzi Vert, Skrillex, Sexyy Red, and Chief Keef.
North released her debut EP, N0rth4evr, earlier this month. The project dropped on May 1 and quickly received support from several members of the Kardashian-Jenner family online. Kris Jenner, Khloé Kardashian and Rob Kardashian all shared posts showing themselves listening to the project shortly after its release.
While many fans have praised North for her creativity, some social media users continue to criticize her style and self-expression. Last year, Kardashian addressed the backlash during an appearance on the Call Her Daddy podcast after some of North’s fashion and beauty choices sparked conversation online.
“She does listen to me, but in other areas, I’m like, ‘Babe, if you want blue hair, it is what it is.’ You know, it makes her so happy. I would never take that creativity away from her.” Kardashian said, adding, “I just think anyone that’s raising kids, especially four kids by myself, I’m doing the best that I can.”
