Kim Kardashian has found herself at the center of a fresh controversy following her daughter North West’s latest foray into body art. The young influencer recently showcased a new dermal piercing on her finger, sparking intense discussions about Kardashian’s parenting choices.
The buzz began on Tuesday, November 11, when screenshots from North West’s TikTok account started circulating. These images revealed the 12-year-old flaunting new piercings on her middle fingers, much to the surprise of many onlookers.

One particular photo captured North with a dual dermal piercing on her right hand, while another snapshot documented the precise moment the needle pierced her skin. Accompanying these images was a simple caption: “Thanks, mom.”
As these posts gained traction across various social media platforms, they ignited a wave of criticism directed at Kardashian. Many users expressed concern over her decision to permit such body modifications for her young daughter, reigniting the ongoing debate about the boundaries of parental consent and childhood autonomy in celebrity circles.
The posts quickly made their way on social media, where users criticized Kardashian for allowing her preteen to get the body modifications.

“This is what happens when you want to be your child’s best friend instead of a parent,” one commenter wrote on reddit. Another user added, “She doesn’t care what North does — it’s like there are no boundaries.”
Another user on X said, “Kim is a horrible Mom.. these are things a 12 year old should NOT be doing. What a disgrace. She should be embarrassed.. KAYNE HELP HER!!!”
According to expert, dermal piercings on the hands can pose complications “like infection, scarring, and traumatic tearing.”
The conversation comes just weeks after Kardashian opened up about raising an expressive preteen.
During her October 15 appearance on Alex Cooper’s Call Her Daddy podcast, the 44-year-old reality star and entrepreneur revealed that North shares her passion for beauty.

“I’ve had those conversations with North about makeup because she loves her lip liner,” said the SKIMS mogul, who added that her “door is wide open” to her kids and their friends. “And she’ll be like, but mom, I grew up literally my whole life sitting in your lap while you’re getting your makeup done, watching you do it.”
Kardashian also admitted that she’s still learning as a mom and asked for “little bit of grace”, especially when it comes to what she lets North wear.
“I’m like, okay, we’re never wearing that again. Unfortunately, we made that mistake in front of the whole world,” she said, adding, “as a mom, you’re kind of like learning at the same time.”
