Odell Beckham Jr. is opening up about fatherhood like never before.

In an exclusive interview with People Magazine, the NFL star spoke about his two-year-old son, Zydn, while attending the FRI&NDS Pre-Super Bowl Launch in New Orleans.

Reflecting on his current priorities, Beckham shared that he’s focused on shaping his and his son’s future.

“Where do I want to live? Where can my son lay his head? How do I establish a future for him?” the 32-year-old pondered.

He explained that these thoughts have been at the forefront of his mind as he navigates his career and personal life, trusting in “God’s plans” to help guide his decisions.

As he continued his conversation with the outlet, the wide receiver opened up about what he hopes his son will learn from him.

“For me, I just hope he learns love,” he said. “I feel like this world is so full of hate and comparisons and jealousy and all these other things. I hope that I can instill in him everything that my father instilled in me. And for my son to have the right moral compass, because everybody’s going to go on their own journeys.”

Beckham continued, “I’m not going to be able to be there with him through every encounter. So just being able to instill the right tools in him to be a good man, respectful, morally sound, and he’ll be okay.”

The former Miami Dolphins player welcomed his son to the world with TV host/model/actress, ex-Lauren Wood, in February 2022, just four days after OBJ’s big Super Bowl win against the Los Angeles Rams.

At the time, the former couple announced the impending birth of their son via a series of Instagram posts.

“My gift won’t be wrapped under a tree this year but I can’t wait to meet You,” Beckham captioned one of the posts with Woods cradling her baby bump. “Merry merry Christmas!!! From Me n minezz!! Alll LUV.”

Although the couple split in September of 2023, they are committed to successfully co-parenting and according to Beckham have, made their bond even “stronger” as a result.
