Cardi B and Offset’s divorce just got messier. In a newly released song, he raps about wanting to move on from his relationship “in peace.” Still, in the song, he slams Cardi for not cooking for him. People online have almost universally ridiculed him for the line.
Cardi B filed for divorce from Offset in 2024
Cardi first filed for divorce in 2020, but the couple reconciled. In 2024, she filed for divorce again, and this time, she says, she’s not changing her mind.
“I don’t think people understand how tired I was. How tired, how mentally drained I was,” she said, per People. “Drained, drained, drained. Couldn’t eat. I was getting frequent headaches. I was literally losing my mind.”
She said his frequent infidelity and treatment of her were going to eventually push her over the edge.
“I was going to end up going to jail, ‘cause I was going to end up killing them,” she said. “Seriously, with my own bare hands. ‘Cause it was just getting so … it was just getting too much.”
People are criticizing Offset for lyrics about Cardi B
Cardi has spoken harshly about Offset since their split, but he said he hopes to move on peacefully. He said his new song “Move On” is about this desire. Still, the lyrics take a few shots at her.
“You never cooked n**** no food / You just want to go out to Nobu / Telling me s*** that you don’t do / Telling me s*** that you don’t do / You f***ed around with the wrong dude / Hope yo’ next n****’ll be great.”
People have not been very supportive of the song. Many people said he shouldn’t have expected her to cook, as she admitted as much in her 2020 song “WAP.”
“I’m laughing cause she told you exactly this in WAP,” wrote one Reddit user.
Other people said he shouldn’t have expected her to cook for him, as she claimed he cheated on her with dozens of women.
“Nope, don’t care about what a cheating loser has to say,” wrote another person. “He’s treated her abysmally. What an absolute bum.”
Many people pointed out that Offset could have cooked for himself, or hired a chef, as the couple is worth millions.
“They’re loaded, why tf would she need to cook for him?” one person asked. “He can hire a private chef or DoorDash to his heart’s content. He could also cook himself f***ing bum.”
She is in a new relationship
Offset said he hopes to move on peacefully, something Cardi has already done. She is in a new relationship with NFL player Stefon Diggs.
“I’m in a place right now that I’m very happy, and I feel like I’m crawling,” she said. “It’s like I’m learning how to do things.”
She said she’s the happiest she’s been in a long time, and not just because of the new romance.
“I went through a lot of f***ing trauma,” she said. “And I had to learn myself. Before I even got with somebody, I had to learn myself. I had to come at peace with myself, and I had to shed a lot of f***ing tears so I could finally be like, ‘Yeah, I’m feeling good.’ And I’m sharing that.”
