He is recognized in the creative field by the pseudonym OGB Recent and for impersonating secret fraternity members of the underworld in his comedy skits. He rose to prominence in 2021, after one of his videos went viral on the internet. Since then, he has established himself as a major player in the entertainment industry.

OGB Recent is Nigerian by birth. He was born Michael Charles on September 2nd, 1997. He was born in the oil city of Warri, Delta State. His parents are Mr. and Mrs. Charles.

He is an Ijaw man from Delta State. He spent his formative years in the South-South area, growing up in Warri from infancy to adulthood.

After graduating from secondary school, OGB Recent decided to pursue his dream of being an actor and entered the Nollywood business. While working 9 to 5 at a corporation in Warri, he began auditioning for film parts in his state. However, he received no positive feedback from his acting career.

He decided to try his hand at the thriving content production profession after a buddy recommended it. OGB Recent, a huge admirer of comic Brain Jotter chose to incorporate aspects of the previous creator’s approach into his comedy style. To distinguish himself from Brain Jotter, he adopted the persona of a cultist, which he was able to perfectly replicate.

As a result, he began creating comedic films and uploading them to his various social media sites. Within a few months, he acquired popularity as a content creator as people began to like his films. They were amused by his ability to impersonate members of secret societies while still appearing amusing.
