Olivia Colman brought both star power and polished style to the Royal Television Society Awards on Tuesday night, stepping onstage to collect one of the ceremony’s most coveted honours.
The actress, then 40, was named Best Female Actress for her work in ITV’s Broadchurch and Channel 4 drama Run, accepting the award in an elegant cream-toned outfit.
Colman’s relaxed-fit dress was layered beneath a peach-and-black collarless coat, while gleaming gold heels added a refined finishing touch to her red-carpet look.

Fifties-inspired style: Olivia Colman wore a cream dress, peach-and-black coat and gold heels for Tuesday evening’s Royal Television Society Awards.
The two-time BAFTA winner, recognised previously for Accused and Twenty Twelve, accessorised with a glittering clutch, bangles and a bold gold watch.
Her retro-leaning ensemble carried a subtle 1950s feel as she posed for photographs with her Broadchurch co-stars Jodie Whittaker and Andrew Buchan.
Colman had been widely tipped to win at London’s Grosvenor House. Her fellow Best Actress nominees included Scottish performer Sharon Rooney, recognised for the 1990s-set series My Mad Fat Diary, as well as co-star Jodie Whittaker.

The hit show, an ensemble crime drama that explored the impact of a tragic death on a tightly knit community, developed a huge following during its eight episode run.
Referring to series two, which has been commissioned and will begin principal photography this year, Jodie admitted that its two principal stars, Olivia and David Tennant, would definitely be returning.
‘David and Olivia will obviously be in season two,’ she said. ‘It doesn’t shoot for a few months, I think – middle of the summer sometime.
Time for a selfie: The double BAFTA winner was in high spirits at the event after claiming her award for Best Actress
Three’s company: The two actresses were joined by a host of fellow actors, producers, directors and writers on the night – amongst them Broadchurch co-star Andrew Buchan
‘None of us know if we’re in it, or if we’re not in it. It was exciting and wonderful to be a part of, I really enjoyed it, so there’s no part of me that wouldn’t do it if I was asked.’
Other winners on Tuesday evening included Idris Elba, whose leading role in BBC show Luther landed him the award for Best Male Actor, while fellow BBC star Brendan O’Carroll won Best Comedic Performance for Mrs Brown’s Boys.
Alan Carr pulled an upset over TV veterans Ant and Dec, winning the Best Entertainment Performance gong for his chat show Alan Carr: Chatty Man.

Channel 4 celebrated wins for its hit documentary series, with Gogglebox winning the Popular Factual or Features prize, and ‘Educating Yorkshire’ winning Best Documentary Series.
There were additional wins for period crime drama Peaky Blinders for Best Drama Series and long-running show Coronation Street – which claimed the gong for Best Soap and Continuing Drama.
Broadchurch was in further contention in the category for Best Drama Serial – and, as widely predicted, it claimed the award.
Elsewhere Stephen Fry won the award for Best Presenter, while David Suchet claimed the Lifetime Achievement Award.
She’s pleased: Jodie recently admitted that pal Olivia and co-star David Tenant will be back for series two of Broadchurch
