Sometimes, your hair needs a little extra love and attention to fight frizz, static or dryness, especially in the wintertime. My personal favorite haircare product — along with thousands of Amazon shoppers, apparently — is the OUAI Leave-In Conditioner.
If you’re new to the brand, its founder is celebrity hairstylist Jen Atkin — you may have seen her on Keeping Up With the Kardashians or on Chrissy Teigen’s Instagram. I’ve fallen in love with every OUAI product I’ve tried, from its shampoo to its wave spray, but my favorite has to be this leave-in conditioner.
OUAI Leave-In Conditioner, $28
Spray it on clean, towel-dried hair (try to avoid your roots if you can) and gently comb it through to distribute it more evenly. It works to protect hair from heat damage caused by hair dryers, straighteners, curling irons and more, up to 450 degrees Fahrenheit. According to the brand’s website, this leave-in conditioner can actually reduce hair breakage by 52% when used with heat. However, it also helps to detangle, hydrate and add shine to hair. For those with curly or coarse hair textures, you can also spray it on dry hair.
I have fine hair, so I usually only use two to three sprays after washing and conditioning my hair in the shower. However, it smells so good that it’s hard not to keep spritzing. The OUAI Leave-In Conditioner features the brand’s signature North Bondi scent, which features notes of bergamot, apple blossom, Italian lemon, patchouli, sandalwood, jasmine and white musk. Essentially, it’s floral with a hint of musk. (I love the smell so much that I bought OUAI’s North Bondi perfume, too.)
More than 6,000 Amazon shoppers give the OUAI Leave-In Conditioner 5 out of 5 stars, saying, “It works wonders,” while calling it “my all time favorite.”
“I have tried many products to try to repair my damaged hair and this has done the job,” wrote one Amazon reviewer. “My hair is silky soft and it also smells wonderful!”
“Literally my absolute favorite hair product I’ve ever had,” wrote another reviewer. “The smell is great. I have thinner hair and it gets greasy easily from products — this has never made my hair greasy or oily. My favorite time to use it is after I wand curl my hair. Throw this in it it takes all the frizz away and gives me beautiful beach wave hair that stays all day.”

You can get a 4.7-ounce bottle of the leave-in conditioner for $28 on Amazon or get the smaller travel size for $14 on the OUAI website. While it may be a tad pricier than the stuff you’d find at the drugstore, it lasts a while, and the results are definitely worth it.
